Meet the staff
Denise Rajchel. Chief Executive.
Denise has worked in social housing for over 24 years and is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Denise joined Petersfield HA in March 2008. Denise has wide experience in the field of social housing and is a highly experienced senior manager with extensive experience in both housing association and local government sectors.
Paul Heselton. Housing Manager.
Paul has been working in social housing for more than 17 years and is a fully qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Paul joined PHA as Housing Manager in August 2005 and prior to that worked for both Tandridge and Chichester District Council. Paul lives in Bognor Regis with his wife and 4 daughters - all of whom keep him very occupied. He is an avid Wolverhampton Wanderers fan and plays pool every Thursday for a local pub team.
Barry Charles. Property Officer.
After retiring from a career in engineering project management, Barry joined the Association in February 2005. In the role of Property Officer, his 40 years of practical experience in building, renovation and maintenance benefits both tenants and the Association. Quality of outcome and efficiency are his driving forces.
Niamh Wakefield. Accountant.
Niamh was born and educated in Dublin before moving to the UK in 1989. She has been with the Association for over12 years having previously worked in media, banking and audit. She lives in Petersfield with her husband and three children and enjoys cycling and swimming. Niamh has become an avid Portsmouth FC fan in recent years and attends most home games when she can. When Sol went up to lift the FA Cup she was there!
Claire Corney. Accounts Officer
Claire joined the finance department in February 2012 after spending 16 years working within finance roles for the MOD her last being Navy Command in Portsmouth. She lives in Gosport with her Husband and two children and spends most of her spare time going swimming and ice-skating with her children. She loves motor sport either on two or four wheels and is a huge fan of Formula 1.
Sarah Clawson. Housing Officer.
Sarah has been working in social housing for over 19 years. During this time she has been employed in many roles and worked for both local authorities and housing associations. Sarah joined Petersfield HA in August 2008. She holds a Professional Diploma in Housing Studies and lives in Petersfield with her husband and 2 children.
Wendy Sillence. Administrative Assistant
Wendy joined PHA in December 2010 having previous worked for eight years in the Housing Department at Guildford Borough Council. She is very interested in the Petersfield area having lived here for many years. Wendy and her husband now live out in rural West Sussex, they have three grown up children and two grandchildren.
Meet the Board of Management
David Walsh BSc Hons, MCIOH (May 2009)
David is Chairman of the Association and has wide experience in the field of social housing. David is a highly experienced senior manager who has extensive Director level experience in both Housing Association and Local Government sectors.
Steve Rice BA Hons MCIOH (December 2008)
Steve is a Housing Consultant with extensive experience at Director level within both Housing Association and Local Government sectors. He has worked with many housing associations as a consultant, undertaking research and successfully addressing / advising on a wide range of issues.
Graham Smith BSc (March 2003)
Graham is a former Chartered Surveyor and IHM member. He has extensive public sector property-related and administrative experience including housing management & maintenance and town development, and was also a university lecturer & examiner in housing studies.
Charles Gibson (March 2005)
Charles is a retired Chartered Surveyor.
Mary Owen (May 2007)
Mary is the tenant representative on the Board.
David Chapman MCIOB (Nov 2009)
David is currently Head of Property Asset Management at Kingfisher HVHS Housing Association. David has in excess of 30 years’ experience of the social housing maintenance sector He has a successful track record of delivering a high quality, cost effective repair and maintenance service to residents.
Jayne Godolphin (April 2010)
Jayne has worked within the HR field for 27 years and 17 of those years have been within Social Housing. She has many years’ experience at a senior level and currently she is as a member of the Executive Team at Accent Peerless.
Peter Morton FCIOH (May 2011)
Peter is a highly experienced senior manager who has extensive Chief Executive and Board level experience in the social housing sector. This includes over 23 years at Chief Executive / Director level in the housing association and local authority sectors. Having started his career in accountancy Peter has always taken a special interest in Housing Finance and has been an External Examiner to the Institute of Housing’s Professional Diploma. He also has extensive housing, development experience
Mrs Julie Freemantle (Nov 2011)
Julie is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in a wide range of public and private sector industries. She has served on the Board of Drum Housing Association and the Group Audit Committee of Radian Group. She is currently a Trustee and the Treasurer of a national charity. She also runs her own small, local business.
