Resident Involvement
What is Resident Involvement?
Resident involvement is about giving residents choices and encouraging them to have a say in how their homes are managed.Petersfield Housing Association wants to actively encourage residents to get involved with the staff and help determine and shape the services we provide.
No previous experience of housing is required, we just want your knowledge and your views about what we do and how we do it. You will be fully supported by the staff who are committed to providing an excellent service to all our residents.
Petersfield Housing will reimburse your ‘out of pocket’ expenses such as car mileage and car parking that you may incur as a result of your involvement.
An example of Resident Involvement is ‘working parties’ where residents work with staff on e.g
- Developing a website, primarily for our residents
- Reviewing the repairs service and jointly producing a ‘standards’ document
We have not only delivered several successful projects to strengthen and support local communities, but we also have annual ‘estate walkabouts’.
The estate walkabout programme involves staff and Board members visiting areas where we own property, accompanied by key individuals from other organisations and agencies. This gives residents an excellent opportunity to discuss any issues they have with their home and surrounding areas.
In order to achieve such excellent results we have continued to work in partnership with several agencies to include the Police, East Hants District Council, CAB and Drum Housing Association (now Radian) and would like to thank them for all their support. If you would like to know more about getting involved please contact Paul Heselton, housing manager on 01730 263589 or by e-mail paul.heselton@petersfieldhsg.co.uk
